This site helps employees understand their employer's 401(k) plan from the public record: what the employer contributes, what the plan costs, who the providers are, and how those figures compare with plans of similar size. It is built entirely from public filings: the Form 5500 that every plan files with the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Form 11-K and Form 10-K that public companies file with the SEC.

Every figure is shown with its source down to the form line and filing date, so it can be checked. The site states facts and comparisons; it does not rate plans, does not give financial advice, and shows no individual's name or contact details from any filing.
